I've always at least enjoyed Pink's music and last night Liisa & I went to her concert in Helsinki, it was my (early) birthday gift to her.

 

The show itself was quite good, I'm much more of a fan of Pink's music since we really started listening to more of it in the past few months in preparation for the show. It was quite energetic and Pink is a great performer. The only sad thing is that Finnish people by nature are on the reserved side, so a arena full of screaming Finnish fans sounds about half as loud as the same number of, let's say American fans. I hope Pink didn't think she wasn't doing well, or that the fans weren't enjoying the show. I think I was most amazed at the amount of acrobatics in the show.

With all the little things causing tiny amounts of stress in my life, I've had a general feeling of unrest for the past couple weeks.  On top of the move story in my last blog entry, there's a couple other little things that have caused me a little...discomfort (I hesitate to use the word stress).

 

My ADSL service was supposed to be hooked up on the 16th of September, it was finally hooked up today, I got the call from the sub-contractor that the work was complete.  I went & bought a modem/wireless router, expecting to come home, hook it up & unleash my laptop on the web at blazing fast speeds, dumping the steaming pile of dung that is Welho Cable Internet.  After trying to configure the router for about an hour, I called Saunalahti (the DSL provider) and was told that they hadn't yet received confirmation from the installer that my service had been hooked up.  It should be running tomorrow....fine.

 

I bought a TV on Monday but it wasn't in stock at the time.  I was told that "it will come in this week" but they couldn't say whether it would be Tuesday or Friday.  A very nice friend from work offered to leave his bicycle at home and drive the car to work on whichever day the TV comes and help me pick up the TV & take it home.  Now that tomorrow is Friday, looks like I'll be missing out on that generous offer, assuming the TV comes tomorrow.  Guess I'll wait & pick it up Monday....fine.

 

Anywho...I started listening to the album 1 Giant Leap by One Giant Leap tonight.  It's definitely not for everyone (don't even bother Jeremy =P) but if you're familiar with, and like the stylings of, Deep Forest, Qkumba Zoo or the like, then you should check out the experimental/electronic/tribal sounds of One Giant Leap.  Not sure why I haven't found this earlier, but I'm glad I did tonight.  About half way through the first song I forgot about everything that had been bothering me and a feeling of relaxation came over me.  There's nothing like some great music to lift your spirits.
